2023 Annual Impact Report
2022 Annual Impact Report
Over 7,300 families have been served since 2019, yet 3,849 families connected with Heart of the City for the first time in 2022. These families are representative of the challenges in South Denton County and beyond. Who would have thought families from 36 different countries would ultimately plant their lives in our community, desiring to make a better life for themselves and their children, and find the help they needed right here. Heart of the City has been blessed to be a part of this transition as never before.
As a Volunteer Organization, Heart of the City operates with over 225 committed volunteers every week. A common statement is: "we think we are helping others (and we are), but I have learned that I need this time of serving and giving back--- and the resulting blessings are immeasurable." In 2022, 414 NEW VOLUNTEERS served for the first time. Added to prior years, Heart of the City has seen over 930 registered volunteers in total. People love to serve within a healthy, winning environment.
People are passionate about giving and supporting Heart of the City because the results are clear. The Neighbors often become volunteers. Volunteers become donors. And the Donors are laying a foundation of support allowing Heart of the City to LOVE, SERVE, and HELP in South Denton County and beyond as never before. The more we can trust that financial support will be there, the more we can focus on truly leading families down the path to self-sufficiency. JOIN US and support Heart of the City. Excellence
Within South Denton County, we see that the current purpose of Heart of the City is to aid with FOOD, CLOTHING, and LIFE-SKILLS COACHING. However as needs change, so will the programs of Heart of the City. We realize in a rapidly changing world, we must be able to change as well.
We see the potential of Heart of the City to be a model for loving, helping and serving local communities, led by local people, using local resources to make those communities better places to live, work and play. This model will be one that can be duplicated in every town all across the nation. And when this happens, we will find that each unique Heart of the City entity has the potential to truly be the HEART of each city and it will be a example of what it looks like to LOVE OTHERS.
Fully committed to love, serve, and help.

Maybe you have been part of it.
Probably you have seen it.
Or surely you have heard or read about it.
How did Heart of the City start from nothing in 2019 and today be a major social services provider within South Denton County and beyond?
It took YOU, as one of almost 1,000 registered volunteers to be the hands and feet of all we do.
It took YOU, as one of a few hundred donors providing a financial base which fuels all we do.
It took our COMMUNITY of South Denton County and beyond to believe and embrace all we do.
Every one of YOU play a key role that has helped serve over 15,000 residents since 2019.
You wanted to “make a difference”, and you have.
You wanted to help “be the change”, and you did.
You wanted to embody “compassion lived out”, and you fully embraced it.
But, as a Christian, I know none of this could have been done by me, by you, by any of us without the inspiration, leading, and provision of GOD. I believe He chose YOU, me, and the hundreds of others to be the vessels (the hands, feet, and financial support) to LOVE, SERVE and HELP our neighbors. It is in His character to do this. It is also His love that leads the Heart of the City Team. We are fully aware we did not do this on our own. Pretty cool.
So, don’t stop believing, serving, and giving. What WE are doing together is AMAZING, is BIGGER than all of us, and is CHANGING families lives forever. Here we go…again!
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
